D2C Games' SPOGS racing coming to WiiWare service - Image 1The latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine talks about an upcoming WiiWare title called SPOGS Racing. It is being developed by D2C Games and promotes crashing one’s vehicle into opponents.

According to the magazine article, one can take the several parts of an opponent’s racer such as pre-owned engines, brakes, and tailpipes among others. These, then, can be used to upgrade your own ride.

Simply put, this can be done by careening past other vehicles and pickpocketing their racer parts. SPOGS Racing is not all about that, though. We quote Nintendo Power:

When youÂ’re not busy going SPOG-to-SPOG with rivals, youÂ’ll fly off ramps and negotiate loops. Obviously, the SPOGS Racers are not your parentsÂ’ Camry. TheyÂ’re designed to spin, drift, flip over, and (most of all) crash a lot.

TheyÂ’re also equipped with six kinds of weapons, which you can use to slow down your opponents so that you can mug them.

Aside from the already mentioned, we also learned that this WiiWare title uses three different control schemes, and comes with several modes like quick races, battles (non-stop series of collisions), and a season mode which has players racing on every track.

Nintendo and D2C Games have yet to make an official statement regarding SPOGS Racing. While we wait for them to make an official statement, keep checking back here for more updates.
