Damnation announced: details, screenshots revealed
Codemasters and Blue Omega have finally revealed details about their upcoming game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC called Damnation. Set in a steam-punk universe, this title is interesting to say the least. The graphics seem pretty good, the gameplay sounds promising, and the storyline is pretty awesome as well. For more details on this game, head on over to the full article.
Slated to be released late this year, Codemasters and Blue Omega’s Damnation for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC is interesting to say the least. How could it not be when this game is said to offer gamers a chance to pull off moves that would put modern action stars (Jacky Chan included) to shame.
Damnation is set in a world where the U.S. Civil War has continued all the way into the early 20th Century. The ongoing war of attrition between the North and South has already depleted most of the resources throughout the Eastern United States, causing both warring factions to look westward for a new means of furthering their respective causes.
There they find Prescott Steam Industries which intends on keeping the war going for the purposes of making even more money. The company has started supplying both sides with weapons such as the new Automan (think Terminator, steam-punk style).
Those who decide to pick up Damnation will be getting quite a bit of gameplay. According to the press release, the game will have up to three hours of actual gameplay per level. A rarity in today’s more cutscene-oriented games.
While we’re not really sure what to make of this game yet, the screenshots below show a lot of potential. If the developers find a way to maintain this level of graphics while providing gamers the action packed experience they crave then we can bet that this game will be happily received by the gaming community.
