Dan Hsu officially announces resignation from Ziff Davis and 1UP
Sometimes, you just feel the need to move on. That’s what Dan Hsu of 1UP feels, as he has recently announced his official resignation from the company. The former editor-in-chief of EGM also mentioned a who would take over after he left. More about that after the jump.
We’ve seen a number of people leave EGM and 1UP over the years. The latest person who has announced his intention of doing so is Dan Hsu. “Shoe,” as he is affectionately known, has officially announced his resignation. His last day on the job will be April 25, 2008.
Hsu made it clear in his resignation message that he wasn’t laid off or forced out due to any problems with Ziff Davis or anything – the decision to move on was entirely his. His colleague, Sam Kennedy, will take over the responsibilities of Editorial Director upon Hsu’s departure from the company.
So what does Hsu intend to do afterward? According to him, plenty. Of primary importance are lots of rest and sleep, plus immersing himself in various games such as Patapon and possibly World of Warcraft. Nevertheless, Hsu admitted that he loves the video game business too much to stay away from it forever. Nevertheless, by his own admission, he first needs to catch up on some of some much-needed quality time for himself.
