Good news, shmup fans. It looks like Dariusburst is definitely getting a US release.

Following earlier sightings of the game on the German USK, the ESRB has rated the PSP game for North America. It looks like it’ll be a download-only release since developer Taito is listed as the publisher and not Square Enix.

Here’s the rather bland description from the ESRB listing. To make it more Darius-y feel free to replace “enemy ships” and “enemy units” with “giant mechanical space fish”.

This is an arcade-style space shooter in which players control a small craft that shoots projectiles and lasers at enemy ships, missiles, turrets, and robots. From a side-scrolling perspective, players navigate through outer space while shooting at the numerous enemy units. Ships, objects, and enemies explode when hit, sometimes with realistic or slow-motion effects.
