Dark Ages of Camelot Grab Bag – Sanya Lays It On The Line

doacFans of Dark Ages of Camelot have had questions – and Sanya has answers.

Nineteen classes have been adjusted – some to a large degree – since the release of v.1.81. While developers are planning some additional improvements, these latest adjustments will not affect the current class change to Valk on Pendragon in v.1.84a.

Those of you who have noticed that bolts pack twice the whallop of tanks will also be interested to know that the bolts are being revisited. (Remember that bolts are physical, not magic – high ABS will help the player, here.)

Those of you who have been experiencing crashes during the CK siege, you’re not alone. The developers have this advice:

“Look in your Camelot folder for a file called ‘errorlog.txt’ and erase all the stuff you find there. After you do that, have your friends do the same. Now, go in to Leirvik and try to crash just as you’ve described to me. Now, look at the errorlog.txt file again. There should beÂ… a lot of stuff there. Send the file to [email protected], and if we get enough of those puppies, we should be able to solve the problem soon.”

By the way, don’t look for the lock boxes to get any bigger. Housing lots are for active players, so if you’re not playing right now, you’ll need to make room for someone who is – but don’t worry. You’ll get reminders before you’re evicted.

On a completely different subject, you may be wondering – does end (or lack of) make any difference in casting speed?

Sanya says no, but adds,  “…many spells have a small end cost to cast on top of the power cost, and as Mighty Marty (lead Camelot programmer) reminds me, every caster likes a full end bar in order to beat a retreat if necessary.”
