Darth Vader, Yoda to appear in Soul Calibur 4
Don’t worry, you’re not alone if you thought Star Wars characters appearing in Soul Calibur 4 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3) is the most disarming twist since Luke Skywalker found out who’s behind the dark lord’s mask. Darth Vader and Yoda will indeed be in Namco Bandai‘s upcoming title, and then screens at the full article will prove it.
No, we’re not kidding. Namco Bandai somehow employed the dark lord Darth Vader and Jedi master Yoda in Soul Calibur 4 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3). Even with the screenshots to prove it, we still find it hard to believe. We’ve seen Heihachi, Spawn and Link in the series, but Star Wars characters? This isn’t the tale of souls and swords and light sabers, is it?
Namco Bandai sure is “transcending history” with its next-gen installment of the long-running fighting game series, because we’re still puzzled over how Darth Vader and Yoda will fit in the timeline. We do know that Mitsurugi fighting the dark side and Taki defending herself against the Grand Master of the Jedi Order should leave fans of both Soul Calibur and Star Wars stunned.
How blades can withstand the light saber, we may never find out. When Soul Calibur 4 gets released, we’re sure to search for any possible way to put the Soul Edge in the hands of the small green guy and see if it eats his soul. For now, you can check out the screens below from 1up and be amazed by how detailed the two guests are rendered in the game.
