David Jaffe: I have no regrets leaving God of War III

David Jaffe may not be included in the credits of God of War III despite having been a part of the franchise ever since, but he’s saying he doesn’t regret it in the least bit. Instead, there might be some room for a Twisted Metal return in his schedule.
In his website, DavidJaffe.biz, he talks about his exclusion from the third iteration in Kratos’ popular franchise. “One of the questions that comes up all the time these days is, Oh, do you regret leaving God of War and Sony?’ I always say ‘No, no, no, no,’ and I don’t. I have no regrets.”
It appears that he’s made peace with the fact that he’s out of their lives now, but nonetheless continues to be supportive of Sony’s endeavors. “I’m always excited for the team and excited for the game, but it’s not my game anymore. It never really was.”
Meanwhile, buzz has been building regarding a “reboot of Twisted Metal, thanks to his comments made on his “What’s on Jaffe’s Brain” blog section.
“Just to be clear, I’ve never said we were or were NOT making a new Twisted Metal. Ever. But just to be 100% clear, if we were to make a new Twisted, I would consider it a reboot.
The last console Twisted was 10 years ago. If we were to make a new one, we’d be starting with the assumption that no one knows what Twisted Metal is anymore and we’d have to re-earn each and every fan the series ever had. So in that sense, IF we were to ever make a new one, we’d consider it a brand new series/ game/ franchise.”
Would you like to see an all-new Twisted Metal or would a reboot be just fine?
