Dead Rising for Wii confirmed, revealed, scanned
Whoa! Talk about getting sneaked up on from behind! Capcom‘s E3 press conference may have revealed some stuff (like a Lost Planet movie – what?!), but we look to other sources for some rather big news: Dead Rising is headed for the Nintendo Wii, and scans from Famitsu confirm it! But is it a port of the original Xbox 360 version? Is it a remake? Or better yet… is it a sequel? Check out the details in the full article. Mmm… brainssss.
Forget scantily-clad women in bikinis. The money is in photojournalism, and with a guy like Frank West, you probably can’t go wrong. That’s what Capcom hopes, at least. No, we’re not getting a sequel just yet, but lo!, we’re getting Dead Rising for the Wii!
Scans from Famitsu confirm that Capcom will indeed be releasing Dead Rising for the Wii – the decision to port/remake the original Xbox 360 game for the Wii was made after some really good reception of their Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition.
Dead Rising for the Wii looks like it’s going to get some slight changes – one of which is that it’ll be adapting an over-the-shoulder camera system, much like in RE4. There’s also going to be some controller support for the Wiimote and Nunchuk (again, much like in RE4) – yeah, there’s nothing better than waggling your way out of a zombie’s grasp.
Mmmm… Brainfood… Yay for more zombie bashing with my Wiimote!
Capcom’s assuring gamers that they’ll still be going to keep true to the original Xbox 360 version’s look and feel, and push the Wii’s engine as far as they can.
Surprised, eh? Maybe, maybe not. Capcom did, after all, say before that Dead Rising (and Lost Planet) wasn’t coming to the Wii and PS3. However, seeing as Lost Planet jumped to the PS3, Dead Rising‘s jump to another platform wasn’t all that unexpected.
Now… what say we have some confirmation if ever we’ll see a Dead Rising sequel, huh?
