We have not had any hints as to the release date of the much-talked about Dead Space 2 following its official confirmation last week. Except, it seems, for GameStop, that is. The retailer is claiming that Visceral’s spacey action thriller is coming out on 2011.

The information even lists the specific date of “1/3/2011” although it’s safe to say that the month and date are mere placeholders. There’s no other detail to give credence to this listing, but it’s not entirely impossible. Given the hype that they’ve employed thus far to drum up anticipation for it, it’s not all that surprising if they’re going to prolong the wait for the game and get us yearning for more.

Am all for it, actually. As long as they can guarantee quality, it will always be worth the wait.
