PSU recently got a few Heavenly Sword details from Ninja Theory‘s Dean Calver, the game’s lead programmer. Calver revealed a few things about how the game will handle load times as well as the Heavenly Sword demo.

According to Calver, the basic load structure in Heavenly Sword is as follows: “At the beginning of each chapter we have a introductory cut scene, while thats happening we are also caching data from Blu-ray to hard disk. This way when we actually are streaming while you play we can use both sources at the same time.”

Regarding the demo, Calver said that a team from Sony Cambridge is working on making it into a stand alone demo so that the core Ninja Theory team can continue working on the Heavenly Sword beta. Calver didn’t give out any dates but did say that although there’s still work ahead for the main team, it’s “much less than full time“.
