Dengeki Online poll: PSP the most wanted system for game remakes
Remakes of highly-successful games make for great gaming opportunities, and it seems the PSP is the way to go when it comes to Japan’s system of choice for such a venture, according to a recent poll done by Dengeki Online. Learn more about the poll after the jump.
It looks as if the PSP just happens to be Japan’s game remake system of choice. Dengeki Online recently held a poll asking users about the games Japanese users wanted remade, as well as where they wanted the remakes to appear.
While we won’t go into the specifics of the games they wanted remade (though we will say that Final Fantasy VII got the top spot), we will tell you that they want those games remade on the PSP above all others, according to the polls, which you can see on the right.
According to the polling done by Dengeki Online, the biggest thing the Japanese wanted out of their remakes was improved graphics. By and large, Sony‘s PSP certainly delivers on that aspect, especially when it comes to remakes of PS1 and PS2 games.
Seeing as the PSP is selling well in Japan, with game remakes such as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions selling many copies, it does seem as if the whole “PSP as the remake machine” idea fits with the system’s capabilities. Hopefully, this will mean many of us will see some much-wanted remakes heading to the system, or at least some new IPs for the handheld. In any event, this poll does prove that in Japan, at least, the PSP is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
