Destineer Develops Fullmetal Alchemist DS
Destineer has been licensed by Funimation to produce Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy for the DS, and according to Siliconera, the said game will offer Destineer a fresh change from the Close Combat series that the company has been known for.
Unlike the other Fullmetal Alchemist games which have been mere side stories, Dual Sympathy will cover the entire FMA saga, and will also include clips from the show. Destineer also said that Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy is the first in the series of Fullmetal Alchemist games that they’re planning to make.
The said game gives players the choice to take on the role of Edward Elric, his younger brother Alphonse, their teacher Izumi, Alex Louise Armstrong, Roy Mustang, or Scar in the side scrolling adventure. All of the characters will have the ability to use alchemy to transmute objects. How do you do this? By holding down the DS buttons. The game will also feature touch screen mini games such as “Whack-A-Homunculus” and “Fullmetal vs. Flame” to add fun to your alchemist adventures.
So far, no other details have been released about the upcoming game, or whether Fullmetal Alchemist 3 or the fighting game FMA: Dream Carnival are currently in the works. All we know is that Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy will be brewing elements on your DS this fall. Not to worry though, we’ll keep you posted for more news on this.
