Details dropped on Ghostbusters for Wii
We’ve reported in the past that Ghostbusters: The Video Game is coming to many different platforms. Now we’ve got news on just what Nintendo Wii owners will get as exclusive features. Get ready to take advantage of the Wii Remote once more as it becomes a Proton Pack with this offering from Red Fly Studios and Sierra Entertainment. More details follow in the full version.
We’ve reported in the past that Red Fly Studios and Sierra Entertainment are working on the multiplatform lineup of the upcoming Ghostbusters game (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, PC). Now we’ve got details as reported by NGamer on what we’ve got coming exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.
As one may guess, Ghostbusters: The Video Game will take advantage of the Wii’s motion-sensing controls, letting you move around with the analog stick and turning the Wii Remote into the virtual Proton Pack. If you’ve watched any of the movies or the animated series from years past, you’ll have no problems envisioning what we mean.
Simply put, you’ll be shooting particle-accelerating beams using the pointer and trapping supernatural troublemakers for later storage at the Ghostbusters fire house vault. This should be fun when you slam fiends around with 500,000Mhz energy bursts.
Multiplayer action will be available domestically. This will mean four players can sit around in a room playing co-op missions split-screen style. There will also be a 30-second mini game where players can compete to see who can capture the most ghosts.
We’ll fill you in on more Ghostbusters: The Video Game details soon as more news comes. For now let’s visualize happy thoughts of ghosts getting fried with proton beams.
