With the game this early in development, we shouldn’t expect a lot of details for Deus Ex 3 (PS3, 360, PC), but a few tidbits should pop up now and again. In this interview with Stephane D’Astrous, Eidos Montreal’s general manager, he gives us new info about the game.

D’Astrous explains that the story will respect the history of the franchise, but he declines to go into detail on the new sequel. When asked about whether the game will also be entrenched in conspiracy theories, he merely says that it’s “an option.” He does promise that the game will have a solid and in-depth storyline that also focuses on replayability.

The game will preserve some of the elements from the previous game, including the elements in dialogue and the choice versus consequences theme. He mentions that there are other specific features they will preserve but doesn’t go any further into detail.

As for a release date, we may have to wait for quite some time before the game is released. D’Astrous expects that they’ll be able to show more of the game by summer 2008, but the game has a 24-month development cycle so we’re probably looking at a 2009 release.
