Devil360 Modchip Coming Soon?
If you have already gotten over the scam that is the ICE modchip, maybe you can now welcome another news of a rumored Xbox 360 modchip coming our way. The Devil360 Team says they will be coming out with a modchip for the Xbox 360 console that “is in no way related to the DVD firmware exploits” because it takes on a different approach.
Apparently, the team wanted to release the said modchip yesterday, 06/06/06, but were not able to do so as they are still working on some improvements to the device. The things they are still working on are as follows:
- Protecting the modchip from any type of update.
- Making the modchip programmable via PC.
- Boot unsigned code
- Allow to swap HD with larger drive with a special interface between the 360 and the HD (all types IDE/SATA).
The Devil360 Team knows that people may not easily believed them due to the ICE ‘scandal’; hence, they promise to send prototypes to some 360 sites as soon as they are ready to assure fans that this modification chip is for real. The team leaves people with a warning:
“We also discovered some shops already take pre-orders for this product. Do not pre-order it! We did not announce any distributors yet and the device will not go on pre-order until at least after the prototypes have been tested/reviewed by independent sites.”
