We’ve been hearing a lot about THQ and JAKKS Pacific‘s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Wii, DS) since it was announced a few days ago, but if you still haven’t caught up with the next explosive season of professional wrestling, here’s a video that showcases the game’s new features and innovative Wii controls, as well as hint at what downloadable content will be.
As usual, developers of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 tout the long-running series’ Create-A-Finisher feature which allows players to choose from a pool of over 500 animations and craft their own special moves. Another promising aspect is downloadable content, though we’re only told that this round of beat downs should have a long-lasting appeal when DLC drop.
Meanwhile, the Wii version of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 is packing its own bag of tricks with quirky controls. When your superstar makes his or her entrance, it’s possible to use the motion-sensing Wii Remote and Nunchuck to perform taunts and rile up the crowd. Not only will you look cool, but also gain momentum for better performance in the ring.
