Diamonds are Passe. iPods for the Win!
These days, it seems, nothing says “I love you,” like a brand new digicam. At least, that’s what a new study has concluded.
A survey commissioned by the Oxygen Network and done by marketing researchers TRU recently found out that there’s a lot less separating techie guys and gals these days. While men own 6.9 tech devices on average, women now own an average of 6.6. They’ve also found out that 46% of the women surveyed also have no complaints with doing their own computer troubleshooting.
The study also showed that more women now prefer getting tech items over luxury goods. 77% of the women surveyed preferred getting a plasma TV over a diamond necklace, while 56% were more game with a plasma TV than a weekend trip to Florida. The study also concluded that the popularity of tech stuff with ladies is only going to grow over time, especially with the rapid advent of new technologies.
At the very least, girlfriends will be a lot easier to please. You may end up having a fight over who gets to play World of Warcraft though, so maybe your first year anniversary gift should be a tricked-out gaming laptop – unless you prefer sleeping on the couch, that is.
