DiRT 2 pays tribute to Colin McRae
For years, Colin McRae was always on the microphone to promote his racing games, serving as both inspiration and spokesperson for Codemasters when it came to the Colin McRae games. It has been two years and a half since his unfortunate accident, but Codemasters still remembers the rally icon, and the latest game carrying his name, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 (Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS and PSP), will have content paying tribute to the Scottish rally driver.

It has been two years and a half since his unfortunate accident, but Codemasters still remembers the rally icon, and the latest game carrying his name, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS and PSP), will have content paying tribute to the Scottish rally driver.
For DiRT 2, you will be working towards the Colin McRae Memorial Cup. It exists only in-game, though the late rally champ may deserve a real one. “YouÂ’ll hear other drivers talking about him. HeÂ’s the central figure in the narrative,” says Mark Turosz of Codemasters.
Even though the game’s pretty much called just DiRT 2, it’s great that Codemasters is still trying to ring the Colin McRae name in there, marketing strategies aside. It may not be coincidence that the game will be released in September, marking the third year since the helicopter crash.
