fans all over Japan waited long and anxiously, so when retailers opened their doors yesterday, their supply of Dissidia: Final Fantasy started flying out of the shelves and into the PSPs of their very excited owners. Japanese retailer blog Sinobi reports that 350,000 copies of the Square Enix title were sold at Day 1. Bang!

Interesting to note, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII also sold 350,000 on its first day, which leads me to believe that there are about 350,000 hardcore, Day1-buying FF fans in Japan hahaha. But speaking of Day 1 sales, that still doesn’t quite match up to Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, which sold a whopping 670,000 on its first day.

Here’s how the others fared on their first day:

  • Gundam Musou 2 (PS3) 106,000
  • Gundam Musou 2 (PS2) 50,000
  • Gundam Musou 2 (Xbox 360) 14,000
  • Tales of Hearts (Anime Movie Edition) (DS) 107,000
  • Tales of Hearts (CG Movie Edition) (DS) 14,000
  • Fate/Unlimited Codes (PS2) 51,000
  • Gensou Suikoden Tierkreis (DS) 40,000
  • Fable II (Xbox 360) 30,000
  • Ragnarok Online DS (DS) 28,000
  • Momotarou Dentetsu: 20-Shuunen (DS) 28,000
  • Karaoke Joysound Wii (Wii) 24,000
