Do the math: bear-form tanks no more?

Well, it was Zelvar who did the math on the changes Blizzard implemented between bear-form druids in the live World of Warcraft and the test realms World of Warcraft, and came out with the following calculations:

Health decreased by 898 (7.62% reduction)

Armor decreased by 1549 (8.65% reduction)

Maul damage down an average of 70 points (13.94% reduction)

Maul crit damage down an average of 168 points (15.27% reduction)

Mangle damage down an average of 180 (32.37% reduction)

Mangle crit damage down an average of 550 (39.06% reduction)

“Look at those numbers and try to tell me this isn’t a huge nerf to bear tanking, and feral pvp.”

Of course, a PTR being a PTR, things and calculations could still change before the patch changes tested in the PTR go live. Still, the Bears be howling tonight – and now they may have some hard numbers to back it up.
