Dow! v0.2: improved development on the go - Image 1

February saw the first release of Dow!, which in itself is a peculiar name for a program meant to mean “Develop on the go!” But behind the name lies an impressive Lua homebrew development application, if you had a Sony PSP Fat (a.k.a PSP-1000) of course. Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew coder bumuckl broke that barrier with Dow! version 0.2, and it also comes with plenty of additions and enhancements from its previous release.

Dow! v0.2 is now compatible with any Sony PSP, may it be Slim & Lite or Fat. The saving mechanism has also been re-tuned, which makes for more reliable reloads of save files. Users on the Sony PSP may also tweak Dow! v0.2’s settings via an editable config file, just to sweeten troubleshooting scenarios. Other changes include:

  • improved menu-function
  • increased the horizontal menu
  • added tons of codesnippets for all different luaplayers (sic)
  • insert your own commands
  • insert your own presets
  • insert your own functions
  • added presets
  • added functions
  • fixed filebrowser (sic) bug
  • fixed OSK
  • fixed scrolling

The Lua homebrew development tool is also an official entry to the Neoflash Spring Coding Competition 2008. So after downloading, testing, and showing your appreciation for Dow! v0.2 here, you could go all the way and vote for it at Neoflash’s web site.
