Dragon Quest Sword delayed in Japan

Square Enix‘s Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is quite elusive. For the longest time, it was listed under a vague “To be released in Spring” date with no clue whatsoever on the exact release date.

At the beginning of this month, a few details leaked out and according to reports, Japan should get it by June 28. Quite unfortunately, we managed to get hold of a different source and learned that Dragon Quest Swords is being pushed back in Japan until July 12. The first release date that appeared came from gaming site Go Nintendo.

We visited the site and found out that they were able to spot the same source, even saying that this one is more reliable than the first. We tried our best to discern the Japanese site and if we’re not mistaken, even our source is quite baffled with the delay.

Regardless, there are a few more things that we derived from the site: First, there is still no mention of a North American release or of any other release in other areas. Then, the video game will be sold for 6, 800 Yen and that’s roughly around US$ 57.

Dragon Quest is one of the most well-loved and long-running franchises from Square Enix, alongside Final Fantasy. The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors is an FPS with players using a sword instead of a gun. Players, likewise, are able to cast spells against their enemies.
