Dragon Quest V DS remake coming spring 2008
Square Enix has given Dragon Quest V‘s remake for the Nintendo DS a spring 2008 release window. As part of the three remakes Squeenix announced, we’re counting on DQVI soon after that. For now, find more details at the full article!
What’s next for Square Enix now that Dragon Quest IV‘s remake for the Nintendo DS is out in Japan? Why, another Dragon Quest remake of course! Dragon Quest V for the handheld, one of the three DQ remakes Squeenix announced, is dated and set for release come spring 2008 (says Famitsu).
If you head over to Square Enix’ website for the trio of remakes, mouse over Dragon Quest V‘s icon and you’ll see it’s now scheduled for 2008. The game was first resurrected back in 2004 for the PS2 and sold 1.5 million within a month after release, yet we’ll probably see it on top of charts again soon.
According to Media Create‘s latest software sales numbers for the week ending December 2, Dragon Quest IV sold 732,000 copies since its November 22’s launch. Knowing how Japan loves them classic RPGs, it’s pretty much safe to bet on DQV getting more than 500,000 copies off shelves in its first week. Time will tell, so we’ll be waiting.
