Driver’s certificates and position IDs from Hawaii are now supported by Apple Wallet.
Hawaii residents can add their IDs to the Wallet App by signing up.
Hawaii is now the seventh state that has approved the use of state IDs and driver’s licences stored on iPhones and Apple Watches through the Apple Wallet application. Apple announced its intention to allow iPhone users to store their passports and driver’s licences on their devices in 2020. Only a few states have adopted this feature four years later, but it is gaining popularity. Hawaii is the seventh state in the country to adopt this feature, following California, which began its gradual rollout in mid-August. Ohio followed suit in July. Apple appears to be rolling out the feature gradually in the Aloha State. 9to5Mac was the first to notice that users who wish to add their ID cards to Wallet must join a waiting list. Arizona was the first state to adopt it in March of 2022. Colorado, Maryland, Georgia, and Georgia are also states that support this feature. Users who live in one of seven states that allows it can open Wallet, tap on the + sign and then select Driver’s License.
