retrohead’s come out with his second DS homebrew game (and it’s got a really long title) Take the eggs! Ornithorhynchus Anatinus GO GO GO! DS v0.2a. Whew, that was quite a mouthful, wasn’t it?

Anyhow, this game is a port of the Sega Saturn game, Motteke Tamago with Ganbare Kamonohashi. of Naxat Soft. As the oober long title suggests, it’s a game where you have to… well, take the eggs.

For this version, three extra stages have been added in World 2, and the CPU AI has also been improved, and four new characters have been added. There is, however, a very small bug in the release, that is, sometimes, the fried egg does not appear if the player gets hit while setting a trap.

As for the rest of the changelog:

  • Multiplayer menu is now open. This allows you to choose your opponents. You can only play against the CPU at this moment in time.
  • Stage Select menu added. Choose your favourite and how many eggs to get.
  • Inludes an extra world (3 stages), The City, which also includes enemies 🙂
  • Ghost power-up aka Death Messenger is now included.
  • New “Stage Results” screen added for single player mode.
  • Improved CPU AI. They can now tell what objects are around them (sort of).
  • 5 characters are now selectable from the character select menu. (Multi).
  • Couple of new SoundFx added.

We’d love to host the file here in our site, but it is the developer’s wish that it be not hosted anywhere else. This is so they can log the popularity of the game. We do have the link to the download page anyway, so you can still check it out.
