DS Lite Feeling ‘Blue’ – Voice Recognition Issues
It’s been an import bonanza ever since the March 2nd arrival of the DS Lite in Japan. North Americans have been buying their DS Lites from Lik-Sang like crazy, and so far things have gone smoothly. Sadly, a disgruntled importer named Sean found a pretty bad problem with the Lite.
Imported DS Lites cannot recognize the word ‘blue.’ This makes playing Brain Age insanely difficult and aggravating. Sean wrote a letter to Nintendo in hopes of resolving the issue only to get an even more aggravating response describing how DS Lites “have not tested it for use [in North America]” and any issues have not been resolved.
A few phat DS owners went on to comment about how their non-import DSs had trouble recognizing the word ‘blue.’ It has taken a year and a half for anyone to notice this glaring error. Hopefully things will be improved with the North American release of the DS Lite.
