DS Phat LED Mod
If you feel that the DS Lite is hogging the limelight, then perhaps it’s time to jazz up your DS Phat with some LED works. Yep, nothing catches more attention than flickering lights on your DS Phat. It’s probably the only thing that could outshine the DS Lite’s glossy exterior.
Rocky has modded his good old DS Phat with LEDs. He cut the “DS” Logo shape out and placed as much LEDs that could fit into that tiny area. I wonder if the DS Lite will get this kind of treatment two years down the line. But this goes to show that the DS Phat can take all the abuse, all for the sake of getting a makeover worthy of a second look.
Aside from the LED on the cover, Rocky also changed the power leds to blue. He’s done this with the GBA SP and GBA as well, so he’s not new into this LED mod business. So, after all the cutting, soldering and wiring, Rocky presented his final modified DS Phat:
Of course, if you want to give your DS Phat the same LED treatment, you can do so. Just make sure you brush up on your soldering and wiring skills. You don’t want to end up with a DS Phat paperweight, don’t you?
