Those who love to read visual novels with Nintendo DS handhelds may soon be able to bring their novels everywhere, as homebrew developer Jake’s DS Visual Novel Reader is shaping up to be solid. In the latest update, DS Visual Novel Reader version 1.0.3, a few changes were made to make the homebrew app easier to use.

For those who haven’t used DS Visual Novel Reader before, all you have to know is that touching the screen or pressing B advances text, R is for saving, Y is to easily skip text, and L+R+Start brings you back to the menu.

Here’s the latest version’s brief changelog:
