Rubik’s Cube seem to be the ‘in’ thing once again these days, and not even the homebrew community is spared from the recent Rubik’s Cube outbreak. Homebrew developer sepro, or Sebastian Proost, managed to come up with DSCube, a nicely-done Rubik’s Cube application with a decent set of options to cater to gamer’s tastes.
The controls in DSCube is pretty much intuitive thanks to the touch-screen support: just drag the stylus over the part of the cube that you want to turn. It also comes with a timer and a turn-counter to record your number of moves, which is quite useful if you want to improve on your speed-cubing skills. You can even turn off the animation if you want to do things the fast way.
The homebrew developer also whipped up a bite-sized version called the PocketCubeDS, and it’s just the same application with only a 2x2x2 cube. It’s great for beginners to dive into.
If you’re interested in dabbling with the Cube without having to get a real one, you can always download the file from the link below. There’s no readme file included, so you better make sure that you know the basics on how to run homebrew before installing this game. Enjoy!
