DSLiveWeather “Aperio” 3
The last time Lick gave us Aperio 2, it was still built with DSWifi update 0.3b. Now, Lick has managed to add more features to DS LiveWeather.
The application now works with the Supercard Lite and you can actually save the units preference in the Settings tab of Profile. You’ll also find that the ‘Updated x min ago’ is now functional, showing exactly how old the information is. You can view the current weather and weather forecast of all the locations supported by Weather.com. Also, you’ll have pretty icons that are taken with permission from Xbox Media Center Weather. You can now configure/load and save 64 unique Location Profiles and it comes not only with Full touchscreen control, but also keycontrol.
To install, just download the DSLiveWeather Aperio 3 link, then copy it to your homebrew device. Lick notes that if your homebrew device supports FAT then DSLiveWeather can load and save location data known as Location Profiles and downloaded weather data; however, you have to create a directory named “DSLiveWeather” in the root directory. See “DsWifi ready!” and “LibFat ready!” but if you see something like “DSWiFi failed!”, report it to Lick asap. If you see “LibFat failed!”, it means your homebrew device is more updated than Supercard Lite, and thus cannot support the Aperio 3. You can press SELECT on each tab to see the Help message for that screen.
You might just encounter some bugs when you download Aperio 3. When this happens, just report it to Lick. As the new version is not yet executed fully, Lick tells us that the remaining 7% may just be the completion of WiFi Configuration that allows the user to catch weather information by instantly connecting with free hotspots. Thanks for the awesome job, Lick and we’re looking forward to future updates.
