Duke Nukem Forever still on TBA list

DNFAnd so developer 3D Realms finally spoke. But unfortunately, it wasn’t something fans of Duke Nukem have been dying to hear. This is what Joe Siegler, one of the company’s trusted staff, had to say in the game’s official forums:

As all the others have been, I’m posting this because it’s starting to make the rounds as news. It’s a lie. They’ve all been lies. Just trying to stave off the usual posts whenever some store posts a release date and someone comes here thinking they’ve found the scoop of the century.

As we’ve said, I don’t know how many times: When it’s done; When it’s ready to be released, you will not be able to NOT know it. You will not have to “find” the news like that. It will FIND YOU. No further talk of the 01/02/07 “release date”, eh?

That one was definitely a spirit and momentum killer. It would be remembered that at the beginning of this month, there have been some confusion as to when Duke Nukem Forever will be released. While it is still listed as TBA in all gaming sites, Best Buy online suddenly mentioned that it will be out on January 2, 2007.

While the series has developed a following over the years, this latest installment became known and notorious because of its rather prolonged development which began back in 1997.  Fans have been wondering if the subtitle “Forever” means that there is actually no game. If that is the case, then 3D Realms just pulled a cruel joke that can put an end to the much celebrated series.
