Dungeons & Dragons Online: Changes to Sorcerer’s ‘Energy’ Spell Line
Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach developers are currently working on a change to sorcerer’s “Resist Energy” and “Protection from Energy” spell lines. With the change, sorcerers do not need to go through the pains of learning both Resist Energy: Acid” and “Resist Energy: Fire” to be able to cast both. Instead, they can just lean the new spell “Resist Energy” and choose which element they want come casting time. Splendid idea. It makes spellcasting much easier. But why the change?
First off, the change allows it to be closer to the PnP D&D Rules. Well, we can’t really argue with that. The second reason for the change according to the developers is that the previous spell lines are not viable choices for sorcerers. In fact with the limited spell slots, only a handful of sorcerers choose to learn one of the specific “Resist Energy” spells.
With the new Twilight Forge Module, sorcerers won’t have a hard time switching to new spells. The module will automatically remove the element-specific spells from the sorcerers spell books. Those who have previously learned the spells will automatically learn the new “Resist Energy” spell. That’s the benefit you get for being such a studious sorcerer.
If you find yourself missing some spells, you’ll be alerted every time you log instructing you to seek out a sorcerer trainer. To pick out your new spells, you’d have to use the spell exchange. You won’t be required to pay for the spell and it won’t affect your spell exchange timer.
