E3 2008: First trailer of The Sims 3 released!
Who said E3 was going to be anything but great for the PC? The 100 million-selling franchise of Electronic Arts and internal studio Maxis is brewing up for another return to the PC, and according to official news streams it should land on Windows by 2009. Now that’s not to say Maxis hasn’t given The Sims 3 a lot of tender loving care – have a look for yourself. The Sims 3 took your whole Sims 2 world and extended it to whole towns. Feature starts in the full story in 3, 2, 1…
We’ve come across a new trailer from Electronic Arts and Maxis on the highly anticipated The Sims 3, and as you will find out, it’s moved a little upwards in starting content and breadth. The early trailer already boasts what the developers has done with the latest installment to the Sims franchise, which include everything from upgraded visuals to full environment rendering.
And we mean, this could probably put The Sims 3 up there in recommended benchmarks. Yes, we’re that serious. The amount of Sims that appear at once seem to be increased by multiple folds, and the amount of detail and animation placed on each one may force a single-core CPU to blow a gasket. Of course, these are first impressions, and none of these are written in stone.
The appearance of this trailer seems to be cluing us in that EA intends to push out more official details of the 100-million selling franchise, so we’ll be looking out for that and possibly more. For the meantime, enjoy the feature we’ve embedded below.
