E3 2008: no new info for BioShock 2 until BioShock for PS3 ships
We know that Microsoft‘s exclusivity deal with 2K Games for BioShock prevented any news of a PlayStation 3 release, but it seems now the PS3 release is preventing any news to come out for BioShock 2. Details in the full article.
We recently learned that the reason behind the hush for BioShock‘s PlayStation 3 version before was because of Microsoft‘s exclusivity deal for the 360 version. Such as it is, it seems that now the PS3 version is preventing any news to come out for the game’s sequel.
Markus Wilding, International PR Director for 2K Games, revealed during an interview over at E3 that the studio will not be releasing any new info for BioShock 2 until the release of the PlayStation 3 version of the first game:
We’re not talking about [BioShock 2] just yet because right now it’s BioShock PS3 – that’s what everybody is concentrating on. Once we’re in full effect on BioShock 2 we’ll talk about it.
In case that wasn’t enough, he explicitly and firmly stated afterwards that there won’t be any BioShock 2 info until “BioShock PS3 ships,” which would be October. Looks like we might be waiting for a pre-Christmas peek.
