It seems Square Enix is still considering their platform options for Final Fantasy XIV. The game has been announced for PlayStation 3 and PC, but according to the game’s development team, there’s still a chance that it may end up on Xbox 360 as well.
During Square Enix’s E3 press conference where director Nobuaki Komoto and producer Hiromichi Tanaka were present to discuss Final Fantasy XIV, it was admitted that the game’s development team was still “considering all options at this time, including Microsoft hardware.”
There’s already a Final Fantasy MMO on the Microsoft console, so I guess it’s not such a far-fetched possibility. The game’s release is still a year away (at the earliest), though, so the dev team still has time to decide on final platforms.
The press conference also yielded some more details about the new MMO. Even though there’s no clear-cut release date yet, the game’s launch will be simultaneous worldwide on both PS3 and PC. You can find out more at the source link.
