The rain on Kojima’s teaser site has lifted and the man behind it all made an appearance at Microsoft‘s E3 keynote with his long-awaited game. Many speculations have called it right – the blown-up looking dude at the teaser countdown was indeed Raiden, and he’s gonna be the star of Metal Gear Solid: Rising.
Considering that Kojima’s announcement was on Microsoft’s stint, Kojima said that Metal Gear Solid Rising is “in development” for the Xbox 360. By no means is that a final word on platform exclusivity though.
And as for the specula-thon, I remember this interesting flashback made by G.Spenny on our second article on the countdown that probably explains all that rain. Remember that scene?
Note that the comment was made before Raiden showed up in the teaser page. As for the Raiden origin part, it’s plausible, but it remains to be confirmed.
And if you’re still wondering about the creepy mask, it’s still there, and Kojima hasn’t said anything about it yet.
*UPDATE*
This just in, info from Games Press reveals that Metal Gear Solid: Rising isn’t an Xbox 360 exclusive – it’s also coming to the PS3 and the PC. My guess is that it’ll have its PS3 announcement later in the expo when it’s Sony‘s turn.
