E3: Jenga block-stacking gameplay trailer
Remember Jenga? Everyone knows the excitement when it’s your turn to pull a block out, hoping that the colossal tower won’t fall to your defeat. A title of the same name, Jenga, is coming to the Wii to deliver the same experience of the classic party game.
We know so little, yet our feet are shaking in anticipation. Fortunately, the gameplay trailer from Atari shown at E3 gives us more info than we can ever hope for. Apparently, the family favorite stacking game will come in its full glory as a video game.
There will be different themes – may it be in the desert, under the sea, or inside a volcano. Jenga blocks change in appearance depending on the theme, and we must say they look cool.
The heart-stopping event of putting the blocks together at the beginning of the game is present, and looks particularly fun thanks to the Wii controls. As any Jenga player would know, setting up the stack is the best form of foreplay. After that, it’s all about survival of the fittest. Will you step forward, or step down? Only skill can decide.
We’ve seen before how colorful and vibrant the game will be, and this trailer stands testament to that. A tech demo of what kind of physics the Wii can do, this is not. Check it out yourself, and shake in excitement while watching those delicious Jenga jiggle.
