EA announces Burnout Paradise, screenshots and teaser vid
Electronic Arts has finally given the next installment in the Burnout series a title: Burnout Paradise. The game’s slated for a winter release for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but you can get a sneak peak through the teaser video and screenshots below.
Watching the teaser trailer, the first thought that came to mind was that the game’s environment is quite reminiscent of the one in the Grand Theft Auto IV trailer, graphics-wise (apart from the color schemes, of course). Well, Criterion has made allusions to Burnout Paradise being similar in terms of open world-ness to Crackdown, and damn, it looks like they weren’t kidding.
Aside from an unprecedented level of crash deformation that allows players to experience the most explosive pile-ups in the series’ history, the development team behind Burnout Paradise has also finally realized their original vision for the Burnout franchise: an open world environment where you can do anything, anywhere, anytime.
You’ve got the keys to the city, and it’s up to you to turn it into your own personal demolition derby course.
