EA Mythic product manager talks about Warhammer Online’s evolution

Rahim acknowledged the challenge in bringing out an excellent MMO in today’s supersaturated market, but also mentioned that EA Mythic was doing its best to make WAR the best MMO that it could be.  Does that mean that EA Mythic’s WAR is out to beat Blizzard’s World of Warcraft?

EA Mythic‘s Warhammer Online”>Attaba Rahim, product manager of EA Mythic’s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), talked about EA Mythic’s efforts in making WAR‘s development the evolution of the MMORPG in a recent interview. Rahim acknowledged the challenge in bringing out an excellent MMO in today’s supersaturated market, but also mentioned that EA Mythic was doing its best to make WAR the best MMO that it could be.

For Attaba Rahim, the focal point of WAR is RvR play. EA Mythic’s goal was and is to create a brand new game with a unique PvP system that comprises entire armies. Rahim also said that WAR is more of an evolution rather than a revolution in MMOS because EA Mythic wants WAR to give players something different while, at the same time, retaining some familiar elements.

As to whether EA Mythic’s game is out to kick World of Warcraft‘s behind, Attaba Rahim said that EA Mythic’s primary goal is to not to beat WoW, but to deliver the best MMO ever through a balanced, eclectic mixture of PvE, PvP, and RvR features designed to appeal to all kinds of players. According to Rahim, making WAR an enjoyable experience for everybody is far more rewarding than just beating other MMOs at their own game.
