EA opens Chicago studio
If you live in the Midwest and you want to graduate from playing to making videogames then EA’s opening of their latest studio in Chicago just might be the break you’re looking for. The new studio, which is located in downtown Chicago at 215 West Ohio Street, was formally inaugurated today.
“We are pushing next generation development and technology to the limits and looking for the best talent to help us to create innovative games,” said Kudo Tsunoda, Vice President and General Manager, EA Chicago. “We are in a great location downtown in a unique building that gives us access and visibility to the best resources and creative minds of this thriving city.”
The development team currently taking residency in EA’s Chicago studio is the one behind EA Sports‘ popular Fight Night (for the Xbox 360 and the PS3) franchise. They are currently working on three new games for the PS3 and Xbox 360. One of the titles the team is currently working on is the hip-hop lifestyle game Def Jam: Icon, while the other two are untitled as of this writing, but word is that one is a licensed title while the other is a new fighting-game IP.
