EA rejects Jack Thompson’s help in Take-Two take over

Electronic Arts - Image 1Electronic Arts apparently took note of Jack Thompson‘s offer to help acquire Take-Two Interactive, and was nice enough to respond to the popular anti-video game violence attorney. Unfortunately for Thompson, his accusations against EA’s games might’ve been reason enough for the publisher to shake its head and turn him down. Read all about it at the full article.

Anti-video game violence attorney Jack Thompson who previously expressed his interest in helping Electronic Arts take over Take-Two Interactive has received a reply from the industry giant. Through careful wording, EA told Thompson that his involvement is not necessary.

Here’s the letter EA’s Senior Manager  of Corporate Communications Mariam Sughayer sent the Florida lawyer, verbatim:

We have received your letter to EA’s shareholder site. In response to your offer to assist in the proposed acquisition of Take-Two, we would strongly prefer that you not get involved in this matter. EA is a strong supporter of creative freedom for game developers. We feel that your past statements – including false claims about content in our games – make any collaboration with you impossible.

A few days ago, Thompson offered his service to EA as a Take-Two shareholder who believes T2 CEO Strauss Zelnick “is the source of trouble headed Take-TwoÂ’s way.” That’s after he accused publisher EA as the culprit behind nudity in The Sims 2.
