EA’s Facebreaker “disappointing”
EA’s Facebreaker was unimpressively only able to sell 52,000 units–both in Xbox 360 and PS3–last September, said NPD Group. Although it was considered as “disappointing” by UBS analyst Ben Schachter, Wii will release its own FaceBreaker K.O. Party this November.
Facebreaker received an average score of 54 on Metacritic. Although, EA Sports released a statement wherein it boasted on its improving Metacritic scores. With EA Sports boss Peter Moore, the game was supposed to represent what the all-new IP under its Freestyle brand has to offer.
On the other hand, Michael Pachter, Wedbush Morgan analyst, told the gamedaily.com that he wasn’t not expecting Facebreaker to be a hit with gamers:
It’s really an irrelevant title. Mercenaries, Spore and Warhammer all exceeded expectations, and EA is a portfolio of titles. They got some right, and they got some wrong. Dead Space is kicking butt, so it’s hard to criticize them for under performance from their game.
