EB Games and GameStop to Start Wii Pre-Orders Soon

There has been a great deal of confusion about whether or not GameStop and EB Games would be accepting Wii pre-orders anytime soon. After the Xbox 360 fiasco, many stores have been telling customers that they wouldn’t be taking pre-orders at all. I know that I got that response when I asked about the Wii a couple of months back. Just last week a customer was told that EB wouldn’t be taking any PS3 pre-orders at all because they didn’t want to have waiting lists into February like last time.

With the news that Nintendo is shipping 4 million units by the end of 2006, retailers are likely relieved. EB Games and GameStop have a page up for the Wii saying that they’ll have “exciting Wii bundles” soon. I guess they’re going to be taking advantage of gamers and only selling bundles online again. Hopefully, you won’t be stuck with one if you order in the store! We’ll update you guys when pre-orders finally start.
