EEDAR: Xbox 360 scored more hits than PS3 this year
We already know that Microsoft had a stellar Black Friday with Xbox 360 sales, but this time, EEDAR reports that Xbox 360 has gotten more hits than its rival, Sony‘s PS3, for this year, 2008. Read up on more inside.
That’s right, Xbox 360 has had more hits than the PS3. This isn’t just Black Friday, we’re talking 2008. According to the Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, it was thanks strong exclusive titles, such as Gears of War 2 and Left 4 Dead, that Microsoft‘s console put on a great show and is looking forward to say goodbye to the year with a big grin. The PS3 wasn’t as fortunate, according to the report. The only PS3 exclusive that performed up to par was Resistance 2.
The Wii is a different story altogether. It’s still on top, with Animal Crossing currently leading the charge.
For November, EEDAR believes software sales would be US$ 1.34 billion, up 3% year-over-year. They did point out that November this year only enjoyed two days of the holiday shopping frenzy, compared to last year’s nine since Thanksgiving came earlier.
That price drop really helped Xbox 360, too. But Sony wasn’t so keen on lowering its hardware prices, so it became a decisive, console-purchasing swing in favor of the Microsoft console.
