Eight Wii tips, tricks, and secrets compiled
Over at NintendoWorldReport, they’ve compiled eight “Wii Tricks and Secrets” and it’s good stuff worth repeating.
Send more than 20 Miis a day. The limit is 20 Miis a day. So, go into the Wii System Settings, select the Calendar settings, and set the year back (now you can send another 20 Miis). Make sure you change the date back to normal before you boot up a time-sensitive game! (By the way, when you set the date back to normal, you can send another 20 Miis.)
Change the color of the bowling ball in Wii Sports. Select your Mii. When the safety warning appears, hold down the D-pad and press A. D-pad left and A makes it red, right makes it gold, up makes it blue, down makes it green.
SD card holder. Wii game cases have clips for an extra disc holder (they planned ahead for two-disc games). Your SD card fits in that clip very nicely.
Baseball sidearm pitch. Use the 2 button before throwing the ball forward – this makes you pitch the ball from a lower angle. Use the 1 button to go back to a normal pitching style.
Rearrange Wii channels. Hold down the A button and the B trigger to pick up a channel and drop it elsewhere.
Tennis secrets. Hold down the 2 button at the safety warning. Keep holding it. Keep holding… wow, now you’re at the blue practice court. Next time, set all four players to your Mii so you can play just by yourself.
Puzzle. We wrote about this at the start of the month. Choose the Fun option and select Puzzle. Solve the six-piece puzzle. This unlocks the option for harder puzzles – up to 48 pieces. But if you hold down the 1 button, the 48 will change to 192 pieces.
Wii bowling. We posted this back in November. Just watch the 91-pin strike:
