Empire Interactive: Total Carnage is FlatOut 2
When Empire Interactive submitted its financial report sometime around July of last year, it included demolition derby-style racer Flatout: Total Carnage. That alone proves that the company’s planning to bring this title to next-gen after its success in the original Xbox. Weirdly enough, that was the only evidence available and Empire kept mum about the matter.
Until now. Gaming site Worth Playing was able to talk to the developer, and according to Empire,
FlatOut: Total Carnage is a re-imagining of FlatOut 2 rebuilt from the ground up and specifically developed to make use of the additional feature sets and improved processing ability of third generation technologies.
The company also added that it has been working hard on this one for some time now and is ready to announce a release date soon. A re-imagining, eh? We kind of enjoyed it during its heyday in the original Xbox and it is good to know that things are falling into place now. But like all of you, we were hoping for something more.
Oh well. We hope they incorporate various elements to the game that are staple to the Xbox 360. A multiplayer mode perhaps? How about new vehicles? (Hopefully no microtransactions yet.) We’ll update you when we get more details about the game.
