Emporia’s Life phone for senior citizens
Austrian firm Emporia creates Life phone, a mobile phone designed for the senior generation. In a world where mobile phones increasingly become smaller and more complex, this mobile unit is made to fit the needs of those who are aged 50 and older.
The Life phone has only the basic mobile phone functions, enabling the user to send and receive calls and text messages, as well as manage their directory of numbers. It has a red emergency button on the rear, which will automatically call one of the stored emergency numbers to summon aid in case of an emergency.
This phone also features big buttons with large print labels and a large orange monocolor screen for convenience to those who have failing eyesight. Instead of a camera or a music player, Life phone features a loudspeaker and an extra strong vibration function to alert its owner that someone is calling.
Life phone is currently on show at the Cebit High-Tech fair. If you’re interested in giving the Life phone as a gift for a beloved elderly relative, it will go on sale around the world in May.
