It appears that you can be a Herald of Xotli in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. Just what exactly is a Herald of Xotli? Well, in previous articles we’ve mentioned that Druids can call upon the power of nature while the Lich wield the power of darkness. Heralds of Xotli take a simpler approach.

The struck a bargain with Xotli in exchange for power. While other classes such as priests can summon servants of their god to aid them in battle, the Herald of Xotli becomes an avatar of Xotli. Their bodies are warped by the power of Xotli to further his goals.

In battle, the Herald of Xotli morphs into a powerful demon, ready to rend his foes. In addition to this, various buffs increase his efficiency in melee combat. If by some slim chance the enemies do not fall from his initial onslaught, he can call upon other powers. The Herald can wield fire and brimstone from the depths of hell itself.

• At level 25, The herald gains “Hellfire Breath” which deals instant fire damage in a cone away from the caster.
• At level 40, The herald learns how to curse his enemies. The “Inferno Curse” increases the damage of fire based attacks on the afflicted character.
• At 45, The “Exultation of Xotli” becomes available for use, this increases the damage dealt by the herald at the expense of a lower damage output after it wears off.
• At level 55, The herald can use the “Hellflare” spell, which decrease damage to him and increase combat damage to all enemies around him.
