DS Homebrew – Triple Triad v1.0 beta
Another card game is making its way to the DS homebrew community, and this time, it’s courtesy of Minoru. This one’s the Triple Triad v1.0 Beta, and full details can be found after the jump.

Card games seem to be all the rage in the DS brew community nowadays, don’t you think. Apart from Aerthel’s Project Sheratan Baten Kaitos DS brew, we now also have Minoru joining in on the fun with his Triple Triad v1.0 Beta.
Actually, the whole (literal) name of the game is Triple Triad Final Fantasy VIII. And the name of the game (as in gameplay) is card play on a 3×3 tray with a hand of five cards. Basically, the rules are like this:
Each card has four values: one for each side. The players pose a card each turn, and if the value of the card is raised above the value of an adjacent card, he returned this card. The player who has returned more cards wins the game and take one or more cards to his opponent.
As for the features of this version:
- a fashion adventure (solo) to play against several opponents, each with different rules, and a wireless mode to play with friends Smiley
- Backups are automatic and the 33 rare cards are never permanently lost! Again defy the opponent that you took to try to recover, even after turning off the DS! You can see in the Collection menu which has the rare cards you’ve lost.
And for additional information:
- The game is not running on emulator, I have not managed to walk with EFS.So, no picture gallery, but if you are inveterate fan of Final Fantasy VIII, I can show you the game board to get water at the mouth.
Oh, and there’s also a cheat code that provides access to a hidden character mode WiFi. Just spell out the name of the character you’ve chosen, and then select.
