GameStop managers who sell most PS3s get rewards
GamersReports claims a source of theirs said that Sony is currently implementing an employee-centric contest in GameStop that gives prizes to employees for pushing the Sony PlayStation 3. What’s amusing is that the source has even provided documentation to back up this claim.
So far, it seems that the manager of a GameStop store that sells the most PS3 units in his district within a set time-period will win 20,000 points to use on the Sony/Gamestop rewards website. The top store in the entire company will win an additional 10,000 points. Now if you’re wondering what 20,000 points means, that should be equivalent to around US$ 350 in PS3 games.
As bad as this may sound to some, others have noted that this isn’t uncommon practice, and that retailer-oriented promotions like these are usually done to help move units.
